Premiered at Wundergrund festival, November 2011.
SCENATET reinterprets the classic Red Riding Hood tale. In this musical drama the musicians and their instruments are transformed into the distinctive characters we all know from the fairytale. Instructed by Loré Lixenberg, SCENATET welcome the whole family to the fantastic Red Riding Hood-performance with music by the Greek/French composer Georges Aperghis.
Georges Aperghis blows to pieces and reinvents The Little Red Riding Hood, using the original text of the classic 17th century tale created by Charles Perrault – without the hunter or the happy ending. The performers become embodiments of their instruments and lend themselves to the fantastic games imagined by the composer and stage director.
... the distinctive aesthetical characteristics of instrumental theatre were turned into effective pedagogical points – which well became both instrumental theatre and pedagogical children’s theatre
