Marionette Piece

Premiered at SPOR festival, May 2015.

The new work Marionette Piece by Simon Løffler was commissioned by SCENATET and is an attempt to create a world where (almost) everything is connected. The musicians act both as dolls AND puppeteers in a network of connected strings.

Of the work the composer says: “It is an attempt to transfer a marionette’s movement logic to a music logic, where everything is connected to everything. To explore the potential of an extreme bound set-up and create a world where every movement has consequences for everyone, as a kind of bound interactivity.”
