The Weather in Us is a music performance that explores our connection to and fascination with weather phenomena, i.e., nature as something in the end – now? – mightier than the humans.

Over the centuries we have associated ourselves with weather phenomena, they have created limitations and opportunities and acted as an expression and metaphor for all levels of human states of mind. Does this mean that we as humans change with the weather? What will climate change do to humans if we believe that weather conditions, climate and landscapes help define us?

With the work The Weather in Us, composer Bára Gísladóttir, choreographer Margrét Bjarnadóttir and Scenatet want to investigate the notion of a possible future where the climate has changed drastically and the seasons have become unrecognizable, who are we then?

The Weather in Us will premiere in Denmark in May 2024 and go on a tour to Norway, Iceland and Germany.
